Programs action medeor

Widows, disadvantaged women, and people with disabilities in particular have been severely affected by the earthquakes. Many lost their homes, while existing social and economic challenges were further exacerbated. The disaster led to a significant increase in unemployment and homelessness, as well as a growing need for targeted support services. Comprehensive assistance measures are urgently needed to provide those affected with long-term prospects and opportunities for recovery.

In the aftermath of the earthquakes, action medeor provided essential emergency relief, including shipments of medical supplies such as dressings, patient monitors, and oxygen concentrators, as well as other vital humanitarian aid. This support helped ensure that earthquake survivors received not only medical care but also access to food, clean water, and sanitation facilities. However, long-term efforts are still required to rebuild destroyed infrastructure and to ensure sustainable healthcare services for vulnerable populations.

The project, carried out by action medeor and its local partner organisation ICF, which has been operating in the region since 2024, aims to meet the most urgent needs of vulnerable communities in Kirikhan, Hatay Province, by improving access to healthcare. To achieve this, the initiative will establish essential facilities, including two healthcare centres and a rehabilitation centre.
