Nepal Healthy children - healthy communities Programs Since the severe earthquake that shook the Himalayan state of Nepal in 2015, action medeor has been active in the country. Sustainable programs have developed from the initial emergency aid phase - with the aim of sustainably improving the health and living conditions of schoolchildren and their families. The current project includes various measures to improve the living conditions and healthcare of children and their families in remote mountain villages of Nepal. This includes, for example, the establishment of adequate water and sanitation facilities in schools within the project area, accompanied by awareness-raising events on health, hygiene, and menstruation. First aid courses are also part of the project's measures, which are particularly important since the project villages are often very remote. To improve the nutritional situation in the region, families are also being educated on healthy nutrition through various events, and kitchen gardens are being established to enhance the availability of healthy foods.
