Studnar Haiti Nutrition and basic healthcare in times of crisis Programs Increasing violence and crime, extreme price increases and natural disasters are exacerbating the already tense humanitarian situation in Haiti. The consequences of this tense situation in the country are increasing food shortages and a lack of access to basic healthcare services, especially for pregnant women and children. In spring 2024, between 15 and 30 percent of Haiti's population will be undernourished. The joint project of action medeor and the local partner organization Fondation Enfant Jesus aims to improve care for people in this acute emergency situation. This is urgently needed, as both child malnutrition and mother-child mortality have recently increased again. To counteract these developments, both mother and child health measures are being strengthened and food aid is being implemented.
