The association from Tönisvorst had the opportunity to present itself at the Bürgerfest of the Federal President in the park of Schloss Bellevue in Berlin. During the event, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender also visited the action medeor booth, where they learned about the organization's work and answered questions on health topics at the prize wheel. Federal Family Minister Lisa Paus and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser also showed interest in the aid organization and engaged in conversations with the staff. At the booth, visitors could take an interactive journey through the 60-year history of the association. Various games for both young and old on the topic of medical care in different regions of the world, as well as information about the organization's work, rounded out the offerings. "We received especially heartfelt thanks from a group of refugees from Ukraine," said staff member Julia Ramisch, who informed the group about the numerous relief efforts in Ukraine that have been supported by action medeor for the past two and a half years. The participation in the Federal President's summer festival was made possible by Udo Schiefner, the Member of Parliament from Kempen, who is also a member of action medeor's advisory board. Additionally, present at the event were the advisory board chairwoman Ute Teichert, who heads the Public Health Department at the Federal Ministry of Health, as well as action medeor president Siegfried Thomassen and board member Angela Zeithammer. "Pamoja – Stronger Together" was the motto of the Bürgerfest. The term comes from the Kenyan language Swahili, as Kenya was the partner country of this year's festival. In total, about 50 organizations, initiatives, and companies participated, all of which are committed to society, in areas such as child protection, culture and youth work, education, health, and environmental protection.
