Workshops for young people & adults In workshops, we work together with young people aged 14 and over and interested adults on topics relating to the work of action medeor. Are you interested in attending a workshop at action medeor with your school class, working group or the young people in your club? Interested adult groups are also welcome. The workshops last around 90 minutes and are free of charge. We offer workshops on the following topics: Sustainability goals: In 2015, 193 heads of state and government adopted a Global Compact for the Future at the United Nations Summit in New York. The countries that signed this treaty have committed to ensuring that everyone in the world is better off by 2030. Under these guidelines, 17 goals were formulated, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We take a look at these goals and discuss them. Racism: In the animal kingdom, we talk about breeds. In dogs, for example, there are breeds such as poodles, dachshunds and terriers. In humans, however, there are no breeds. Nevertheless, there is the term “racism”. What do we mean by this? What consequences does racism have for a society? How do those affected experience racism? Where do we encounter racist statements? What is everyday racism? What can we do against racism? We explain all these questions together using examples and experiences. Virtual water: Virtual water is the amount of water used in the production of various products. For example, a tomato contains 50 liters of virtual water, a cotton shirt 2,500 liters and a kilogram of beef even 15,415 liters of virtual water. Each person consumes an average of 4,000 to 5,000 liters of virtual water per day. The workshop aims to raise awareness of the fact that we can influence our personal water footprint through our consumption. Fleeing: There are currently 50 wars and armed conflicts. According to Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, this is the highest number of violent conflicts since 1945. One indicator of the global security crisis is the number of people on the run. In the summer of 2024, almost 120 million people were displaced. Why do people leave their homes? What are the escape routes? What distinguishes the countries of origin from the countries of arrival? We want to work this out together.
