The aim of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative is to create the broadest possible alliance of action within civil society that agrees on the key parameters for effective transparency. Signatories to the initiative undertake to make ten precisely named, relevant pieces of information about their organization easily accessible to the general public in a specific format.

The German medical aid organization action medeor e.V., based in Tönisvorst, was founded in 1964 with the aim of providing people in need in developing countries with basic medicines and medical equipment.

2. statutes and objectives

The association pursues exclusively and directly charitable and benevolent purposes within the meaning of the section “Tax-privileged purposes” of the German Tax Code. The purpose of the association is to provide development aid and contribute to international understanding, to selflessly support people who are dependent on the help of others as a result of illness. 1. that it awakens understanding for the situation of people in developing countries
2. having medicines manufactured or purchasing them and sending them to distribution centers, hospitals, nursing stations or doctors in developing countries for a fee that covers the association's expenses
3. that it has medical equipment manufactured or purchases it and sends it to distribution centers, hospitals, nursing stations or doctors in developing countries in return for a fee that covers the association's expenses
4. that it provides specialist pharmaceutical and medical advice to distribution stations, hospitals, nursing stations or doctors in developing countries for a fee that covers the Association's expenses.

The association supports people who are dependent on the help of others as a result of illness by sending medicines or medical equipment to hospitals, nursing stations or doctors in developing countries free of charge for the benefit of these people, as well as providing specialist pharmaceutical and medical advice to recipients in developing countries free of charge.

The aim of the pharmaceutical and medical advisory service is to give the distribution stations, hospitals, nursing homes or doctors in developing countries the opportunity to

1. have medicines checked and analyzed for their pharmaceutical quality,
2. to be able to turn to a competent partner with pharmaceutical and medical expertise and corresponding experience regarding the use of medicines.

The association contributes to international understanding by also carrying out its activities in countries that are not developing countries if the conditions there make help necessary.

3. notice of exemption

We are partially exempt from corporation tax due to the promotion of charitable and generally recognized as particularly worthy of support charitable purposes according to the last notice of exemption sent to us by the tax office according to § 5 Abs.1 Nr.9 KStG. Exemption notice 115/5756/0401 from the Kempen tax office dated 06.07.2022.

9. Affiliation under company law

action medeor is a member of numerous alliances and alliances. Our involvement in association work, memberships in various networks and cooperation with other aid organizations help us to pool our common interests even more effectively and implement our goals even more efficiently.

The action medeor foundation was established in 2001. The foundation's board consists of five members, with Siegfried Thomaßen as chairman. The fixed assets of the action medeor Foundation amounted to 240,000 euro at the time of its establishment, as of December 31, 2014 they amounted to just under 1,000,000 euro.

action medeor founded action medeor International Healthcare gemeinnützige GmbH in accordance with German law. The managing directors of the gGmbH are Christoph Bonsmann, who is also the responsible pharmacist in Tönisvorst, and Bernd Pastors. In September 2005, the first pharmaceutical warehouse was opened in the Tanzanian branch in Dar es Salaam.

Summary

We confirm that the bodies that have to make binding decisions for our organization meet regularly and that the meetings are minuted. Inquiries to our organization are answered within a reasonable period of time. The annual financial statements are signed off by a named decision-maker of our organization. When auditing the accounts, compliance with this obligation is audited by our internal auditing bodies (Executive Committee) and external auditors.
