Ukraine Mobile pharmacy for southern Ukraine Programs More than 20,000 villages in Ukraine no longer have a local pharmacy: The Kherson and Odessa regions in particular are suffering from very poor infrastructure due to the armed conflicts and the floods in June 2023. In addition, the war has led to significant price increases throughout the country, meaning that many Ukrainians can no longer afford the medicines they need. At the same time, however, the need for healthcare has increased, e.g. due to drinking water contamination in the wake of the Kakhovka explosion. How does the mobile pharmacy work? The mobile pharmacy team includes a pharmacist, a driver and an assistant. Four routes have been agreed with local authorities and other aid organizations to ensure that needs are covered as fully as possible; each of these routes is visited once a month. The target group is particularly chronically ill people.
