Lions Club Willich visits action medeor Press releases 15 July 2026 Members of Lions Club Willich recently visited action medeor to gain first-hand insight into the capabilities and work of the humanitarian health organisation. During a visit to action medeor’s pharmaceutical warehouse in Vorst, members of Lions Club Willich learned about the wide range of activities carried out by the humanitarian organisation, which works to ensure access to healthcare for people in low-income countries and crisis-affected regions around the world. More than 100 medicines and over 300 medical consumables are stocked at action medeor’s facility in Vorst, ready to be dispatched wherever they are urgently needed to save lives and improve health. The members of Lions Club Willich were impressed by the work of the organisation, which is also known as the “World’s Emergency Pharmacy.” The club regularly supports action medeor with donations for emergency relief in crisis regions, and they arrived with another generous contribution this time as well. Through a charity golf tournament and various fundraising activities over recent months, the Lions Club raised 13,500 euros for the humanitarian organisation based in Vorst. The donation was formally presented during the visit to action medeor – and it is already clear that the funds will make a meaningful difference. Among other purposes, action medeor will use the funds to support humanitarian aid activities in Ukraine and to finance a dental treatment chair for use at Cardinal Rugambwa Hospital in Tanzania. The hospital, located on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, provides a full range of medical services and has been working with action medeor for many years. However, its dentist currently has access only to very outdated equipment and lacks an adequate treatment chair. The donation raised by Lions Club Willich will now help meet this need, benefiting many patients suffering from dental pain and other oral health problems.
