action medeor prepares aid deliveries to Sudan Press releases 28 October 2025 In light of the escalating violence in the Sudanese region of North Darfur, the medical aid organization action medeor is preparing several shipments of medical relief supplies for the crisis-stricken country. At the medicine warehouse of the “World’s Emergency Pharmacy,” as action medeor is also known, a shipment containing 2.5 tons of medical equipment and medicines is already packed and ready to be sent to Sudan. The recipient is the Mother-of-Mercy Hospital in the south of the country, which treats many refugees from the conflict-affected regions. “The few functioning healthcare structures in Sudan are often completely overwhelmed because the civil war has driven so many people to flee,” explains Sid Peruvemba, spokesperson of the executive board of action medeor. “The people who come to the clinics are not only sick — they are also poor and hungry. The Mother-of-Mercy Hospital is, for many, the only point of access to medical care for miles around.” At the same time, action medeor is in talks with local aid organizations to deliver additional relief supplies to Sudan and particularly to the heavily contested region of North Darfur. In recent months, the aid organization from Tönisvorst has already sent several shipments of medical supplies to the crisis region, including painkillers, antibiotics, treatments for malaria, skin and diarrheal diseases, as well as medical equipment needed, among other things, for diagnosing malnutrition. Another shipment is currently being coordinated closely with local partners on the ground. “One of the challenges for humanitarian aid in Sudan is that access for relief shipments to the conflict zones is difficult,” says Peruvemba. “Fortunately, we have previously managed to bring aid supplies into the country via Chad.
