After the earthquake in Myanmar: action medeor is ready to deliver medicines

After the severe earthquake in Myanmar, the aid organization action medeor is preparing for possible medication deliveries.

The "World's Emergency Pharmacy," as action medeor is also called, has already contacted partner organizations on-site shortly after the disaster. "At the moment, the situation is still very unclear," explains Sid Peruvemba, spokesperson for action medeor. "We have received initial reports of overwhelmed hospitals, but we do not yet have an overview of the specific needs and possible procurement options for medicines and medical equipment," says Peruvemba.

Therefore, they are currently examining both possible medicine deliveries from action medeor's warehouse in Germany and local procurements together with local and international partners. "We will choose the approach that best supports local and regional capacities," announces Peruvemba.

Anyone who wants to support action medeor's work can do so with a donation. Donations can be made online at www.medeor.de/spenden, where donors can also provide their address for a donation receipt. Traditional bank transfers can be made to IBAN DE78 3205 0000 0000 0099 93 at Sparkasse Krefeld, donation reference: "Emergency Aid Worldwide."
