The Neuss-based company donated more than 30 pallets of high-quality medical products to the “emergency pharmacy of the world”. The donated materials will be used as relief supplies for the earthquake victims in Syria. During a visit to action medeor's medicine warehouse, Manfred Hinz, responsible for medical products in Europe, Africa and the Middle East at 3M, got an idea of how the aid organization works and how the donation in kind will be used. Among other things, 3M had provided self-adhesive support and fixation bandages, antimicrobial wound dressings, other modern wound care products and various plasters. The relief supplies will be sent on their way to Syria in the next few days. They will be used in the north-west of the country - in a region where many refugees from the civil war live and which was also affected by the severe earthquake in February. The people there have only a very limited health infrastructure at their disposal. action medeor is therefore supporting the few functioning hospitals and, together with various local partner organizations, is also organizing mobile medical teams to visit and treat people in the tent camps and refugee camps. Manfred Hinz commented after his visit to action medeor: “We are delighted with the good cooperation with action medeor. For me personally and for 3M, it is important to know that the aid for the people in need in Syria is actually reaching the people there." On behalf of action medeor, CEO Christoph Bonsmann and Division Manager Irmgard Buchkremer expressed their thanks: “3M has already supported us on several occasions, for example by providing free consultations. The donation in kind now continues this commitment, which is a great sign of solidarity not only for us as an aid organization, but above all for the people in Syria."
