Press action medeor

Two institutions from the Viersen district are continuing their successful partnership: At a joint press event at the action medeor medicine warehouse, the medical aid organization and the Grefrath IceSport & EventPark announced the continuation and expansion of their cooperation. The partnership is still planned as a long-term commitment of the Grefrath IceSport & EventPark to action medeor as the emergency pharmacy of the world. The aim is to work together to provide help for people in need - from the Lower Rhine to the whole world.

Why is it so important to continue the cooperation? "Every year, action medeor's long-term projects are joined by new disasters and crises that leave people in need. This doesn't just happen in faraway countries, but also on our doorstep, as we all saw in July 2021 with the flood disaster in Germany,” Bernd Schoenmackers, Managing Director of the Grefrath IceSport & EventPark, explains. “As action medeor will unfortunately not be lacking in aid projects in the future, it was clear to us that we wanted to continue our support, even though we need every cent after three economically difficult years.”

Schoenmackers then looked back on the first joint campaign in 2019. The “Show for Charity” was launched there together with the third partner HOLIDAY ON ICE, the most successful ice show in the world. Five euros per ticket sold went to action medeor and a cheque for 9,000 euros was handed over after the show. “We want to build on this success and increase the result if possible,” Schoenmackers says. It therefore quickly became clear to those responsible that HOLIDAY ON ICE should be approached again for this year's guest performance and brought on board. HOLIDAY ON ICE was immediately open to this important topic, even though they too are subject to economic constraints after three difficult years.

Our work is only possible because we receive great support - and we are particularly pleased that the Grefrath EisSport & EventPark and HOLIDAY ON ICE are at our side again this year with this special campaign!"

This lays the foundation for the second Show for Charity: This will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 7.30 pm. Once again, five euros per ticket sold will go to action medeor.
