Anke Engelke in Sierra Leone: the complete trip as a video report

How can the situation of women and girls in Sierra Leone be improved? Anke Engelke took a look at it.

The highest maternal mortality rate in the world, female genital mutilation and significantly poorer educational opportunities for girls - the dangers and discrimination to which women in the West African country are exposed are manifold and in some cases deeply rooted in social traditions. These problems also concern our ambassador Anke Engelke. So she accompanied us on a project trip at the end of 2022 to see how the projects supported by action medeor work and what difference their work makes. She tells us what she experienced in her video report.

A success story that needs to be continued

Projects such as the midwifery school show that your donations in Sierra Leone lead to a tangible improvement in the living conditions of young mothers. The efforts of partner organizations such as Waves also contribute to an urgently needed social rethink that protects girls and young women from cruel experiences. Something is happening - help us now to drive this positive development forward and become part of the change with your donation!
