We are looking for a Finance and Controlling Officer (m/f/d) for 20–25 hours per week at our location in Tönisvorst-Vorst, with the option to work from home. Start date: as soon as possible. Initially a fixed-term contract for two years, with the option of a permanent position.

In addition to the action medeor Foundation and action medeor labworks GmbH, our family also includes our branches in Tanzania and Malawi.

For our Finance and Controlling department, we are looking for a committed team member (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible. The position is part-time (20–25 hours per week) and based at our location in Tönisvorst (Lower Rhine region), with the option of working from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling fixed asset accounting, including maintenance of the asset register
  • Performing ongoing cost centre accounting
  • Monitoring and maintaining project data
  • Reconciling and maintaining general ledger accounts
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Managing and verifying vouchers and accounting-relevant documents
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Preparing relevant documentation for tax advisors, auditors and internal audits

As a substitute:

  • Recording, reviewing and posting incoming and outgoing invoices
  • Processing payments and monitoring incoming and outgoing transactions
  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Processing travel expense reports

Your profile:

  • Completed commercial training
  • Several years of relevant experience in financial accounting
  • Confident use of MS Office, especially Excel, and ideally Microsoft Business Central
  • Team spirit, sense of responsibility, commitment and flexibility
  • Careful, structured and solution-oriented working style
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Affinity for numbers and strong common sense
