Target:
Through interactive information events on malaria and HIV/AIDS and the distribution of subsidized mosquito nets the people in the project region are empowered to actively protect themselves against these diseases
Audience:
First phase: residents of 50 villages in the project region; Second phase: residents of 30 new villages

Training and education of disseminators at village level
Provision of heavily subsidized, insecticide-treated mosquito nets (7,500), primarily to expectant mothers, women and children
Free malaria treatment
Educational events on malaria and HIV prevention and treatment
Intensification of the coordination of project activities with other stakeholders in the implementation of the national plan of action against malaria and HIV
Term of validity:
First phase: January 2013 - December 2015; Second phase: January 2016 - December 2017
