Medical aid for the people of Gaza is stalling

The need for medicines and medical supplies is huge, but hardly any aid is still reaching the region.

The civilian population in the Gaza Strip is suffering under catastrophic conditions: Over 90% of health facilities have been damaged or destroyed, and the few hospitals that are still functioning are severely overburdened. There is a shortage of essential medicines, surgical equipment, antibiotics and even basic supplies such as clean water and food.

Waiting for supplies

action medeor's local partner organisation PMRS currently operates and supplies 20 health facilities and temporary treatment centres in the Gaza Strip. The medicine stocks there have largely been used up. Supplies are urgently needed so that sick, injured and chronically ill people can receive medical care. However, this remains difficult due to the restricted access for relief supplies.

Our partners are ready and waiting

action medeor is in constant dialogue with its partners in the region in order to explore all possible ways to help in view of the complicated situation. As soon as aid deliveries are possible again, the local aid organisation will replenish its supplies in Gaza with the support of action medeor.
